HOW DO I START MY PROJECT, AND HOW CAN I SET MYSELF UP FOR THE BEST RESULTS?
Having a professional on your team who specializes in kitchens can bring you the best possible results in selecting the new layout, the best quality cabinetry, including countertop and backsplash material selections. Prior to meeting with a kitchen designer, it is helpful to have some idea of the budget you have to work with for your kitchen remodelling project. Hue Mac will make suggestions to help you achieve your desired outcomes and keep within the budget limits you set for the project. By drawing a preliminary room outline and floor plan, you will help your kitchen designer understand your ideas. Don’t worry, your drawings don’t have to be architectural grade–just clear, simple sketches. It is necessary to identify appliances early in the process because the dimensions and installation requirements will be factored into the overall kitchen design. See our measurement guide below.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN PRE-FABRICATED, SEMI-CUSTOM & CUSTOM?
Hue Mac has an option for every budget. Flat-packed pre-fabricated cabinets provide an option that is price comparable to what you would find in big box stores. The difference is our Hue Mac Cabinets are made of solid wood compared to inexpensive particleboard. Contact Hue Mac now to find out if our Pre-Fabricated cabinetry is right for you.
Semi-Custom Cabinetry is disrupting the kitchen industry and saving homeowners thousands. The basic cabinetry sizes still apply, but consumers have the option to change certain dimensions, like resizing the cabinet drawers and door fronts, or increasing/decreasing the cabinet depth. Customers are also afforded all the custom options for door profiles and accessories.
Custom kitchens are one of a kind, made with the highest quality materials and provide unlimited options. Custom cabinets are a notable investment in any kitchen design, but there’s a reason for their extra cost. The combination of high-quality materials, expert craftsmanship, the ability to design them exactly how you want them…all add extra $$ to the total price tag.

WHAT COUNTERTOP MATERIAL DOES HUE MAC RECOMMEND?
Choosing countertops is one of the most exciting steps in the process.
Besides the durable surface they provide for cooking, eating, and entertaining, they’re also your kitchen’s main focal point that everyone notices right away.
Choosing the right material for your kitchen countertops is critical. There are so many options to choose from, including granite, marble, concrete, and wood. All of these are great choices; however, the material that is rising above the rest in popularity as of late is quartz.
Quartz is considered an excellent option for kitchen countertops as it is known to be one of the hardest materials available. Its non-porous nature helps prevent bacteria, mildew and water from soaking into the work surface. Another advantage of quartz countertops is its variety of elegant, sleek, and modern designs.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY CABINETRY & COUNTERTOPS AFTER INSTALLATION?
With proper care, your cabinetry should provide a lifetime of use and satisfaction. In harsh conditions, real wood cabinets will see the effect that any wood sees: swelling and shrinking. Cabinet components are manufactured at a target range of 40%-50% relative humidity. Wipe up any liquid spills promptly. Avoid draping damp or wet dishtowels over the doors of cabinets. Over time, this moisture can cause permanent water damage (peeling or discolouration) to the door. Don’t use too much water when cleaning.
Quartz is a solid mineral-filled polymer material so that it is easy and convenient to care for and maintain. In most cases, soap and water are all that are required for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or pads. Thoroughly wipe the surface with a clean, damp cloth to remove residue and dry with a soft, clean cloth. Wipe up staining foods and liquids immediately, this will make clean up much easier. For stain removal apply household cleaner to the stained area. Gently rub the stained area in a circular motion with a damp cloth. Wipe the area with a clean damp sponge or cloth to remove any residue followed by a dry cloth. Never use steel wool on your countertop. To remove hard water deposits, use a wet cloth with a mixture of one part vinegar to three parts water. Dry the area with a clean, dry cloth. Hot pans and heat-producing appliances may cause discoloration or cracking. If it’s too hot to touch with your hand, do not put it on your countertop – use a cutting board.
